quarter light window question


i cant seem to get the glass out of the quarter light window , the rubber is old and perished and the glass is well and truly stuck in there , anyone got any suggestions

Darren.
Had this problem replacing the rubbers in mine.
I had to prise the frame a little bit at the top.
Put a screwdriver between the edge of the frame and the glass and prised it away.
Not on the side of the glass, on the edge.
When I replaced the rubber I squeezed the frame back into shape.
I had to use clamps to get the glass back in, its a very tight squeeze.

i have been using a stanley knife , i guess i just got to keep on keeping on.

i have a shit load of mdf from the d trim if you any for building a cabinet, i already used some on a house extention

yep you have to pri the glass n frame apart.

Make sure you have a face shield or safety glass on when using the screw driver as sometimes the glass can shatter... or explode in your face.

You can make a template from plywood to the shape of the frame before removing the glass, as sometimes you have to bend the frame back into shape to get it to take the glass.

I put mine in the bottom of my parts washer-a couple of days later,it all fell apart.Rubber had swollen and was all gooey( is that a word)??

got one out , sure was fun , i also found a good fitting seal at clark rubber that i will be using. i havent got a pic of the quarter window in the frame but here is a pic of the frame . the chrome makes it look a million bucks especially compared to how it was

and after the build up, i got the little catch lock part that screws into the bottom of the frame where the felt sits from buggy brad they are stainless and look awsome thanks brad
