It would have been nice for a whiteboard on display showing hp achieved.
Had to ask, although some proud folk left their printouts on their front seats for all to see.

The day wasn't a competition. Everyone got their printouts and I'm surprised people haven't posted their graphs.
There will be some of the results in VWMA.

Dangerous,
My mates 1916 made 123hp at around 6500rpm. We are going to play with carbs to hopefully gain a bit more. It`s good to actually see
where your at with jetting. You think your close till you run it, only to find out your not.
Keith.

I made 131hp with the muffler on, dyno also showed up some jetting probs, so I have been down to the local Carb repaired buying a selection of bigger
jets, I will have a bit more of a play on the weekend, so it will be right for the Compak Attack next saturday.

Jets
Hey Dave,
I've got a useful selection of main and air jets. I'll lend them to you so you can figure out what jets you need before you end up buying as many as
I have. They're surprisingly expensive.
I'm sure I owe you. You've helped me out on enough occasions.
Have you got a carb balancing tool, i.e vacuum gauge?
The dyno is definately interesting. It proved to me that my car has different fuel needs when the engine is hot and when it is cold. A cold engine
makes more power and wants a leaner mix of fuel.
For circuit racing I'd prefer to have my engine hot when jetting it because it's normally hot when I'm looking for maximum power. I got the engine
hot one day at Eastern Creek and the engine go so lean it lost a spark plug electrode.
I think you can tell when the carbs are in tune when the engine revs the instant you blip the throttle. If there's any hesitation maybe the jets are
incorrect, the carbs aren't balanced or the linkage isn't equal.

Thanks CT,
But I went down to the local carb shop today and bought a selection of good used jets to play with, I should be right, it already sounds better just
blipping the throttle in the shed, I will take it for a spin tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks for a constructive response Keith & Dave. I always recommend 4 x venturi for main jet & then tune on the air corrector. Can anybody
advise where the other dyno-day posts are?

Dave
I have a play, I did have 135 mains, and 120 airs, and it was lean top end, I now have 160 mains and 160 airs, (yep 4 x venturi!!) and it seems much
better, revs a lot harded. just have to play with the idle jets to fix a small stumble a 2000 rpm.
Will be ready for Saturday.

Thanks for the kind words.
I originally started this car as my daughter's first car but got carried away.
It's great fun to drive on the street. zip, zip, zip and suddenly you are at 40mph in 4th.
83 is the starting point. A few more bits to go on it soon.

Hey CT, your jetting was prob. correct & you may have emptied the float bowl, or at least sloshed away from the jet inlet hole. Plug torching is
way lean! Prob starvation not jetting.
