So whos gonna build you a strong box here in WA?
I don't know of anyone who can do it, but I'd sure like to know who can.
And for what price?

Shimmo use to build good transaxles in NSW and Spicak knew a thing or two :thumb, but I don't know anyone here in Perth who can...Maybe Hermann can do it! I chatted with him at the Bug-In and he told me he does his own boxes...

That's why we have always import our gear form the US builders...Carters, Transform etal, build nothing but hot boxes all day long, no one here in WA does that!
It does not matter a toss where they buy there parts from (there are only a few good part suppliers in the world), but it sure as hell matters how it goes together!

Best of luck in your search!

FUCH your early!

I am with Neil...run the stock box, they are stronger than you think. It may last you a long time.

I've been running a stock L-Bug box with stock axles & CV's since before Xmas, it's been fine so far, but I don't do drag racing & if I give it some off the line I get it rolling a little before stomping on it.
But I don't have 300hp @ the wheels.

Maybe the question for this post should read, "Driver to handle 300hp @ the wheels" ?

Just trying to be realistic.

Hi

Not all SSP boxes are 3.88, Type 3s used them with 4.125 ratio. I agree with Jak, some people can bend a crowbar in a sandpit.

Im selling a box at the moment, check the 4 sales.

I think it was written earlier that the torque would not be ridiculous from the rotary...go with the stock box....Or just buy Steve's and this thread would finish...pretty strong from what I have heard.

Speaking of torque..the new Merc e65 and s65 is LIMITED to 1000nm ...no drivetrain they could put a warranty on could handle any more.....the KW are 450 (i Think)..they are not limiting that! I went in a e55 a few months back, and with traction off we smoked it all the way up the street...when we kicked it back at 80km/h. That had 700nm, 370kw and 4.6 0-100. Sleeeeper.

E class merc 5.4 supercharged...real heavy 4 door, voice recognition for nearly everything..not what it seems.

How is the new 1 inch pipe on the corolla Neil, speaking of sleepers.
