Hypoid gear oil* SAE 85W-140 **
I used Penrite 85W-140 Hypoid transmission oil....
its the one with the funny [?] smell.....
You'll never forget the smell....
One of my manuals says use SAE 90 Hypoid OIL....
It MUst be HyPoid Oil, due to the high tooth and high rubbing velocities encountered in this type of gearing....
I think I bought the Penrite 85W-140 as thats the only Hypoid oil I could find at the Auto One shop at the time...
