beetle front seat lever??
i was told by my friend that i could find a lever mechanism for the front passenger seat that allows the seat to be completely lowered flat to the
back bench. the front passenger seat actually goes back 90 degrees. can anyone tell me where i can find one? and how to install it? i stuff my
6"7 surfboard into the beetle(yes it FITS!) but would rather have it lying down than a tight fit. alternatively, i have been trying to get the
back bench down but i realise i have to unscrew the bolts(too much work). roof racks maybe an option but prefer the surfboard sitting IN the car(both
gals(board and car) are as precious to me)

Dont know about the front - never heard of that one. Might be easier to pull the front seat when you go surfing. Only a minute job to pull it out.
The back should just fold down. There is a release strap on the passenger side of the car on the side of the back seat. Pull it forward

its a 70 beetle. i can't seem to pull the front - without removing the whole seat. i reckon it really does take a minute to remove the seat but a
bit too messy. can't find the strap you were talking about either. does it apply to all makes? :cry

Front - there is a little tab that you move to get the seat out on the rails. Have a feel round and you will find it. Think about leaving the seat out
full time - really gives good access and you can then put heaps in. I drove round like this for a couple of years. Missus loved it cause she could sit
in the back with plenty of foot room
Back - hmm.... really shoould be there Between side of the car and the side of the back of the seat. About 3/4 the way up. Like a little version of
the one that hangs down above the passenger seat belt.
Have one more look

thanks! will have a closer look at the back seat! i have removed it recently - two bolts under the car sides and it drops down fine - the last time i
tried to jiggle it out ended up with bleeding thumbs...
i am not too sure if my partner likes sitting behind away from me... but hey! its worth a try if i ever need an excuse not to talk to her!:P

love roof racks but cannot afford it, well... not at the local prices anyways. not willing to split A$700 buckaroos for a roof rack when it only costs
US$100 for the exact same make. logic tells me it should not cost more than A$500 for transportation costs. :cussing will go for second handers
thou.

the front seat can't be lifted out - only way would be to rip the thing off. back seat doesn't seem to bulge either, looks like its socket
wrench time...
