I can understand. How much do you think the HELBUS has cost? I did nearly all the work myself and can easily add up big dollars.
It kinda makes curvy window's look exy now doesn't it?
Still they ask the price and the market will dictate what will happen next.

Man, I saw this months ago. It's plain and simple, he over-capitalised. Good luck to him, but 23k, really.
What happened to accessable fun?

the for sale forum for three thousand, it looks the part

i reckon the price of a vw depends on the "rarity" of a type/make, which means, how hard it is to find one that isnt full of rust, or if the
majority of a vintage/type have a certain level of rust that has been established as normal, with a normal price tag associated with how much it will
cost to make it roadworthy/rust free which leads to an elevated price tag, add in the demand and voila, appreciating vehicles. So all of us bay
owners either have to wait a few more years for our vintage to rust away so it costs more to keep them on the road, or the demand
increases...hopefully most of the bays live on the coast!!

here we go again, the person who owns it wants 23k for it. So what? It is his/hers to sell at whatever price they want for it. Judging by the pics
there wouldn't be much change out of 23k if bought a microbus and did all the work that this appears to have had done to it.
If some one buys it I hope they are happy with their purchase, and hope they get years of use out of it. I saw volksworld today and the prices the
poms a re asking makes this look like good value.

Bays are going the way splits are.
It is all about supply and demand.
how many would actually contemplate doing a full resto on a bus.
Not many, that is why the prices are going to increase as most buses now do need some sort of work doing on them.
So if you want a good restored bus you are going to have to pay for it.
In Europe the bays are really increasing in price as a lot of people see that they cannot afford a split so they get the bay as it is a bit
cheaper.
Another thing I am seeing is as the enthusiast gets a bit older they need more room than a beetle has and so they get a bus, this way they can carry
the family etc.
Cheers
Dave

my original comment wasn't implying that it was a ridiculous asking price.
It was a question if the bus belongs to an AVD member.
then I state that it's a nice bus.
My Bus owes me over $12k and I haven't got to the interior yet.
I can first handedly fully appreciate the costs in restoring/customising a bay window kombi.
So does it belong to an AVD member or not? |

i was given my bus for wrecking but after stripping it i decided it was too good so a full resto was in order---- 18 months later and thousands of
bucks i have a good shell beautifully painted and partially reassembled ,23k is not outrageous i rekon mine wont be far off that when its finally
finished |
