On the pan?
I used some stuff called Barmastic, available through guys called Pro Tec Ltd.
Its a 2-pac epoxy mastic (rubberized) protective coating, Its industrial stuff, used on bridges and oil rigs and stuff.
Me and MickH (or M?) have both used it with good success.
Seems to be relatively tough, I didnt do the best job of painting it as it was my first attempt at this kind of thing but the paint is designed to be
used on poor prep'd surfaces and to be applied by any means possible.
It came out pretty good I thought.
cost $80 for 4L (3L paint, 1L catalyst)
Also on the under side of the pan I used a bitumen rubber type paint for pretection against stone chips and as a sound deadener, you can get this
stuff frome mitre ten/autobahn/supercheap etc for about $15 L.
I used an litre for the entire underside.
cheers

Yes slowly is the key word
Waiting on a bunch of parts to arrive, I think they landed today.
Tie rods have been beefed up with 3mm galv gas pipe plug welded to original rods.

Hey tofu, sorry I missed your post.
With the mounts, the front one gets distorted when it is torqued up, also they seem like they may be a bit brittle, but this may or might not be the
case, plus they are EMPI :duh
How are the heater boxes going??
Cheers

Would a rolling chassis have a better drag co-efficient than a beetle body? :P
Yeh, the heater boxes fit like a glove - too bad my engine didn't though! stoopid small oval engine bays....
Lucky you - you could replace all your brake lines with the body off... i could only do the front ones... hope it doens't crap out on me at 100kph
