I am going the suby option for a variety of reasons, one of the important ones was the fact the vehicle does not have to be cut up in any way. Just a
few holes drilled.

why not get the porsche engine thats on ebay at the moment.
bolts straight on to a 2 litre box?

If they were all cranky about a V6, they'd be just as cranky about an EJ.
I think they'd refer to them as a "period modification". There are heaps of buggies and buses from the 80s with corvair motors and V8s and such and
people love em. As long as the conversion's done well, most people wouldn't care. Besides, the rate everything's going there be replace panels for
every part of the bay window by then, you could just reverse it all to air-cooled if you wanted.
I reckon it's like this;
v6 - lots of towing, big torque. But this means a heavily modded gbox with taller ratios.
EJ22 - value for dollars, but less power.
I think there'd be parts easily available for both motors in most places, but if you live out the back of bourke the V6 might win coz mechanics know
dunnydores (commodores) better.
