EJ20t coil pack question??

I picked up some coil pacs off ebay...they are off a later wrx, and have 3 wires to each one. Red, Black and a different other colour for each one. Does it have some kind if ignition module built in and just get the signal straight from the computer, or is it just another earthing technique. All the ones I have ever seen, just have 2..one for power and the other from the module.

Any idea of the year? I'll have a look at the late model wiring diagrams.
I had a coil pack fail so I went for the individual Bosch 716 coils which seem to be the standard upgrade for the hipo Subi boys.

Not sure of the year...possible even B4 liberty. Jak and I got them off ebay for $80..didnt know they were 3 wire until after purchase. I had to replace one of my standard ones and it cost $180...you can get another engine for the price of 4.

single bolt or 2 bolt coils? single are WRX and 2 bolt are RS I think.

Correct again. The two bolt are RS... The 3 wire we have are 1 bolt.
