Historic Stuff
Yep, I am on the committee for the meeting, so I know a little bit- this is what I posted on the 20/05. If you shoot me an email address via U2U I can
forward you some pretty informative newsletters on Historic Racing- as I am the editor- though doesnt relate specifically to dubs or porsches...
(there is life on the outside..)
Just letting yall know that on the 6 & 7 August there will be a National Historic Meeting at Qld Raceway with the featured marque of the meeting
being Porsches and VW- but am guessing mostly Porsches. Rusty French is bring 3 LeMans Porsches (over 1 million each) and there are large fields being
entered for Porsche vehicles as well as the usual awsome Historic Cars (20 Group C cars etc).
It is the premier event for Historic Racing in Qld- they will be having static displays of Porsches and Dubs- and I will be racing Herbie (see members
rides)
Some more beetles wouldnt go astray- there were three racing at Warwick and they were a big hit with the crowds.
It might be worth organising a cruise to..

I will talk to the VWDCQ about getting some cars along. i have a feeling though my basshed , stone chipped dinted bug isn't really up to the
standard. Peter i will give you a cll in the next weeks to come out and have a chat, iam not sure if my car would make it into historics.
are you able to send me an electronic copy of the club mag i will add you to the list for the same of the VWDCQ?

Hi Peter& Drew
So it is 3 Porches out of the French stable! I'm sure that 1 of those is the Kremer K4 that Alan Jones used to good effect whilst racing in
Australia back in the 80's
800hp in qualifying trim I think! I'll have to go thru some old mags!
What a great day this will be! :thumb

Drew,
Have sent you the email with the newsletters and yes they are the cars driven by Mr Jones... am not up with Porsche stuff but one is an 800HP 935K3
that French is driving and one of the others is a car that Jones won a championship in..

This is the 1! The ex John Fitzpatrick Racing Kremer K4. It has 800hp in qualifying trim and 740 in race trim.
This model is 300lbs lighter than the ex Alan Hamilton's K3 as well as a stiffer chassis and a little more hp.
I think the other is a 935-78 model which rusty himself raced beside Jones!
