Porsche Club @ Willowbank Now with pics!
The Porsche Club are having some runs on the 1/4 mile this weekend!
Apparently some Gemballa boys will be there from the Gold Coast giving their toys a run.
A couple of Audi club members will be there as well!
Dave Ellis from Wax It will be racing his R32! Won't be the quickest, but it will be the shiniest! :thumb
My friend Jim will be racing this!

I had a pleasant morning watching Porsches fry clutches!!!
There was some wonderful machinery inc a few Gemballa modified 996T,a spiffy Boxter and the most beautiful Cayenne that had the full Gemballa
treatment! 20-22 inch
wheels and the full body kit!
There was also a GT3-RS that won LeMan in 2002 that had just been shipped in for one of the club members.
He drove it for the 1st time today down the return road before he made a few passes.
The quickest time went to a Gemballa 996T which was a 11.8
@123 mph and he still had his clutch at the finish!
Jim drove his 930 T very gingerly on his 1st pass for a 12.8 @
118mph on low boost. His 60ft time was 2.45!:duh(in above photo)
2nd pass netted a melted clutch and a couple of hours to enjoy the rest of the racing.
The GT3-RS ran 12.0 @ 122mph spinning wheels in 3rd gear
and it sounded awesome. Would love to see and hear these things down Mulsanne straight!
The Cayenne ran 14.0 @ 100+mph, not bad for 5,191 lbs!
A 944T with comp track tyres left his drive train on the start line, wonder how much that will cost?
Guy from Harding European drove his A4 Turbo Quattro to a 13.9@100+mph! Congrats Guy!
Matt had his S3 Audi doing consistant mid to low 14s and Dave Ellis did some 15's flat in his R32! How's that clutch Dave, should have cooled down
by now!! :o
All in all a good day out to see such wonderful cars performing in a motorsport arena for which they never were designed for. Now how quick would a
bug be with one of those Turbo engines!! :jesus

It was a great day...a group of cars which had to be seen to be believed.
Next time Craig you have to bring the Bug......might scare few Porsches !!!!!!
I was really annoyed at myself for cooking the clutch on only my second run. But I am keen to get out there again and get better times....bloody good
fun !!!
The fastest time by an R32 in Oz so far is 14.28 in a car with ECU and intake upgrades. 2 others have run around the 14.5 mark.
It would seem that the launch is the hard part to master in the R32, one guy used 6000rpm !!!!!!
Cheers
Dave.
