Alloytec Project

Allright.. Enough fart arsing around by me on this project.. i have the project vehicle (75 Dual cab) and I have a mate ( involved with holden racing) looking around for the whole front cut of a 2005 model Holden.. This idea is to put a 175kw (or 190kw) alloytec V6 with all the bits into the DC..

Now that was easy to say.. I have little technical know how with where to go from here .. The height of the engine scared me off for a while but with the space available in the DC, I don't think that will pose a problem.. Especially if I adapt the back of the rear tray into a "look down" hatch..

The project vehicle will have a "lifted" ride so additional clearance for the sump maybe overcome by this..

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

v6conversions.com.au for management - they have already done Alloytec conversion; Allotec is fly-by-wire. But why bother; I would be looking at a VS/VT Supercharged V6 for 1/3 the price and same performance

I have seen Kimms at indian.. A bit more radical than I am planning.. The alloytec appealed due to weight advantages, reliability and power output.. Hadn't thought of the price.. I want a strong, powerful off road and tourer.. Can go for the older GMH engines I suppose but the alloytec (I have been told) is the lightest and most powerful.. If I'm spending.. might as well get the most available
VWCOOL can you tell me where on the vwconversions site, the alloytec conversion is?

Thanks for the feedback

Okay! I just thought that with double the rated tow loading (Holden is 2500kg for Alloytec) and the fact the thermos in a Commodore run almost all the time when towing... might not be much 'safety margin'. But gee... look at what you've just doen with the Scoobie!

You could fit an all alloy 2x25mm core custom Aussie Desert Cooler. Those radiators keep big block V8's cool. Probably baout $900 but worth the investment if it is to save the motor.

We'll see what develops.. I have measured it up and it will fit.. 27.5 inches across is a big motor.. Thankfully the DC has the room..
