transaxel conversion

I am sure that it will have already been discussed so pardon my ignorance. Can the crown wheel be switched on a fwd subbie 5speed to allow it to be used as a transaxel. If not what are the difficulties and failing that has anyone tried to run one inverted and does the angel required for the drive shafts pose a problem for the cv's

Hi

It cant be swapped, and the engine bolt pattern is not symetrical like a VW, so inverting is out.

Why not make an adaptor plate that allows you to invert the gearbox?

Why not make it mid engine and use a cable shifter? I don't speak from experience, just curious.
