C'mon then let's go!
*sigh*.
I dunno. Looks like professional ebayer..
BUT that would be regarded as a parts
bus here? An incomplete 11 window
(missing *quite a lot of bits* if you look), needs nose, cargo floor is shot and if you
looked underneath it would be a
disaster....it'd need chassis sections,
outriggers, inner and outer sills and cargo floor, possibly doglegs and front valance.....
Who here would take in on to restore (at any price?)...
In fact if someone says
they will restore/save it I'll put $100 towards a fighting
fund for them to buy it. BUT IT MUST BE
RESTO'D, WORKED ON AND NOT WRECKED
OR LEFT SITTING OUTSIDE FOR YEARS WHILE
THAT PERSON GETS AROUND TO IT.....
Would people rather see it as a parts and then Simsmetal
bus here or possible resto in the UK????
.....dunno.........

So......how much did you guys offer for these things? Do I hear a bid of...nothing..??
I'm over this whole bitch about stuff moving OS when none of the vocal people are actually willing to cough up more than $5 for anything.
give it up and be glad it's going somewhere to be restored and looked after instead of rotting away in a paddock or being carved up by a wrecker
for parts here.
If it aint broke,
Make it go faster!!

i agree, i do like the fact that HOPEFULLY it is going to get resto'd and maybe not cut for peices.
IT JUST SHITS ME THAT'S ALL !!!!!
plus they are selling it in UK $ already, they seem to know what they are doing, like said above professional ebayers.

It feels like a case of " I don't want it but I dont want anyone else to have it either"
I have personally tried to sell 2 Splitties but no interest at all here. I 'll be crusified If a foreign buyer shows interest!

Why is it that when people place their VW's on this forum they think they'll sell them instantly? A majority of the people out there looking
for a VW to buy arent continually looking at this list... Theyre looking through Trading Posts, Heralds, Unique Cars, Just Cars, VW workshops etc
etc...
When I sold my last VW, I put it in the Trading Posts across Australia and took it to a few shows. Yeah, it didnt sell in a day but it did sell for a
price I was happy with and it didnt take forever...
This Kombi would need a miracle to be able to stay on our shores. I dont think many people in Aust. would have the 40-50 grand to restore it. Or the
years of spare time.
But, Ill also put my money where my mouth is. Like RobK Ill donate $200 to anyone in Aust. who is a serious contender in putting this thing back on
the road.

By our standards that would be a very simple restoration. Might even buy it myself.
Over here in that state it would cost between 1500 to 4000 Australian dollars and be easily worth 12000 plus when restored.
The tiny minority of you who keep going on about this might be better served doing something about it.
Meanwhile... any one got a Split they'd like to sell me?

If you are so worried,,, buy it.
Lots of people get on this site and advertise cars for sale then if they havent sold within 24 hours they whinge and say they will sell it
overseas,,,, for gods sake the vw scene is tiny in oz and it is a limited market you have to give it time to sell things.
Cheers

I would rather see it go Overseas and be restored than end up at a wreckers yard over here, there was a lot of work to be done on it... My Son
just bought 2 split panel vans for $500 in much better condition than that one... although... TOO MUCH restoration work for Me... I like to start
with a complete car with very minimal rust and You can drive it home... then strip it bare and restore it... A Kombi like that on ebay in GBP would
be a "normal" restoration over there, as the salt eats everything over there including chassis & suspension parts.

I have advertised my notch a couple of times on here, and in the trading post, And I have had 1 guy leave a deposit on it about 4 months back!!!!
that was the only interest on the car from here! I then advertised it on the samba and got about 25 guys email me and ing me from mainly the US, but a
couple from the uk as well! One guy from the states organized his frieght and everything (I had the documents to be signed) and then at the last
minute pulled out! I then said F@#k it I will either keep it or sell it to someone here, but since then I still havent had any interest from here!!!
I have spent about 11500 on this car, and I am selling it for about 5500, And personally dont care about how muh I am losing, cause you lose on most
cars, but yet not many ppl are willing to spend 5grand on a nice VW!
SO STOP COMPLAINING IF A CAR IS GOING OVERSEAS!!! IF YOU WANT TO STOP IT FROM GOING BUY THE F#@KN THING!!!!
Just my very angry 2 cents! N!

It's all about the size of the VW community here in Australia. We need more people into dubs in order for there to be a greater demand for dubs.
What we can "do about this", I don't know. I for one am buying a bay bus

Too right. In fact that one on eBay looks so far gone it is worse than a UK one. It won't be worth shipping it. I could get one in that state
here (once you add in the cost of shipping). If it was complete but rusty, then I would buy it, but I talked to my mate last night and there's
too much missing shame...
