Kubel owner could contact me with pics etc.Note Im only interested in genuine WW2 style Kubel, not a 181 or country buggy please.Any help or leads most

... yep. he told me $40K US and it is FAR from original with many extra metal bits welded on. Good luck finding one... you will have to make
international enquiries methinks nn[ Edited on 6-7-2005 by VWCOOL ]

The one on ebay is a pretty early one ie about 1940. I think it may be a tropical specs one judging by the cool air intake under the roof line. Rough
but pretty original although there's something shonky been done with the engine. Apart from the non orig air cleaner fan pulley exhaust etc etc did
you notice weld marks at the bottom of the gen. pedestal? At a guess I'd say the orig motor was stuffed beyond repair & the gen pedestal has been
welded onto another case to retain the orig number which BTW is pretty low suggesting the date above. Don't know how I'd feel about welding a
magnesium alloy!! Hope they had the inert gas wound right up to the max!

Hi guys[all above !!] many thanks for the replies and advice, yes I've found prices high and few for sale, most are owned by military vehicle
collectors.A few replicas are available, but still a lot of $$ for a fake.I'll keep looking and see what turns up. Cheers !! |

one on Samba classifieds now
Looks rough. $27KUS. Early, 1940-1? Cert pre-42 when they went to the typ 166 dash. I love his "potted history"!! Have a read. It's a real giggle.
I'm sure the Swiss would be surprised to hear the Nazis invaded their country during WW2.
