Flashers

Have a prob with the direction lights on the dash of the type3.
The arm was replaced (not by me) and i was told it was a unplug and plug job...
Now we have both lights on the dash flashing like hazard lights no matter what direction you want to go....
all other lights work fine....
??????????

Damn, this post wasn't what I thought it was...... ;)

Try checking around for a switch somewhere..... older cars built without hazard lights often ended up with a switch that caused both side indicators to light up when the indicators are switched on in either direction.

I think type 3's (later ones at least) had hazard lights installed, but this doesn't prevent people from doing silly things.

Failing that, there may be a short somewhere in the column switch that allows current to run through both circuits simultaneously.

It's a good idea to get hold of a circuit diagram for your car and run through with a testlight until you find the problem. Let us know how you go with it. :)
