Rear suspension noise

Hi. This has been happening for years and has got to the point where I can't stand it anymore. When I'm off road I like to go absolutely flat out and have got the front suspension to a point where it just soaks everything up, but the rear suspension makes extremely loud whacking/thudding noises when I hit larger obsticles. I think it's the spring plates hitting the lower bump stops on full drop. It sounds really violent like it's doing some damage. Does anyone else have this problem? Can it be fixed? Surely the off road racers don't have this problem? Or is it the nature of the beast and I have to live with it?
Thanks.

You could fit droop limiters... straps between your shock mounts to stop the spring plates belting the stops...
