I sold a splitty recently and advertised on here, ebay and The Samba.
Got heaps of inquiry from all over Oz from ebay and the guy who ended up buying originally saw it on ebay. He bought it after the auction ended. The
ad cost me $14 with 12 pics and got over 1000 hits in 7 days. Got about the same on here (AVD) in about three weeks. Had someone from the UK inquire
off the ebay ad too.
With the Samba ad, got three or four people from the UK inquire and had a couple genuinely interested at a higher price than what I advertised it for
here but that option takes time and I didn't really want it to go over there anyway, unless the price was too good to pass up.
Another thing I was going to try was parking it somewhere on weekends... the car itself is a great ad.
Sounds like a bargain to me, good luck!

I love the look of it but when I see the interior is a different colour I go yuck.
If i was parting with those sort of bucks id want it all to be one colour.
Providing the paint isn't an option id take up especially when I like the exterior colour more.

yeh i can understand that some people would not be too fussed on th interior colour being different. What happened was i had the interior painted
(orig colour) then planned to get the bottom half done outside. When the lotus white was applied i liked it and left it. I still have the sea blue
which would be an easy finish for someone.
I have been quoted $900 to finish it, i just don't want to because a) i like it how it is and b) i want to sell it as i have a compnay car and really
cannot justify the extra money......
I would consider dropping some of the price to offset the cost of finishing.

I'm the opposite - I would paint the outside sea blue (and white) to match the interior
The thing that puts me off is that the paint job has obviously been done very well (although in two colours), and I would find it hard to justify
painting over what is clearly nice paint
If its only $900 though, then maybe I'd get the work done and it'll sell straight away
Sam
(If it was in WA i'd probably have bought it by now and done the work meself)

did consider that, but thats a big outlay just to SEE a van
could just freight it, but then would you buy a $16k van without looking (and pay freight?)...?
difficult one, as it needs an interior to be useable, and so it has to be taken to WA where our folks are, tsch

Sam,
If you know anyone in Sydney or Newcastle then they may be able to look at it for you. I can always send more pics or get a mechanic to check it out
for you....just a thought..
I am somewhat flexible on the price which may make the freight cheaper???

Hi Ben
The pics you sent me were excellent, thanks... because of our situation this is one of those times when its all just a bit too complicated, so we're
trying to restrict our search to WA.
Its a cool bus, and I hope someone grabs what seems to be a bargain (but not a Brit!)

See this is what i don't get about this site...plenty of f@#kheads ready to bag out a car. Now when someone posts a car for sale there shouldn't be
a whole heap of idiots giving their negative opinion on it.
I see it time and time again, dickheads with nothing better to do than bag out someone elses car. If you havn't got anything positive to say then say
nothing.
I am sure if all you negative people put pics of your car on here we could all pick them to bits too.

meow man..
cant take constructive critisism, you need a reality check, just trying to give you a heads up on why it might not have sold yet..
but if you want to carry on like a sow n sow the bus warrants no further input good or not so good..
get a grip and have a nice day... :jesus man
like i said "you never know someone will get it one day.."

man its a lovely bus and the more ridgy didge you make it the more likely ur to sell it but I have restoed several bugs and buses and you never ever
get back what you put in,its sad but true I just spent 2 years on a 76 beetle and at least $10g and I was happy to get $5g for it and that took best
part of a year with 101 tyre kickers and idiots till I found the right dude, but if you are not in a hurry hang in there someone will appreciate all
the blood sweat and tears try ebay or the english market my splitty owes me 20k so they can bury me in it as Ill never get back what its worth,I might
sound a bit pessimistick but thats my experiance so good luck and hang out for the right buyer

I must clarify that my 'statement' was not only aimed at my own post but those that others post. I see it time and time again where someone posts a
car for sale and people post replies stating it is overpriced, that they would do this and that with it etc etc. It is a little disheartening for
those who have spent many dollars, time and effort on their cars only to have 'cyber' people bag them out....thats all.......I know that we all have
difffernt taste but keep the negative stuff to yourself....sorry to the people who took offence who are not in the practice of bagging cars.
