This bus was imported from south Africa so is rust free (has had some small repairs, but is solid for the MOT) RHD bay fleetline factory built one of 200(basically a split screen with a bay front) it has empi's, lowered with coil over front end( red nine design) new brakes, new clutch. Has a 1600 tp engine with sports exhaust. IF sold in uk will come with mot and registration, e-mail for any more questions!

....I drove one like this here on the Gold Coast a couple of years ago - It belonged to a friend of mine. He believed that it had been imported from Papua New Guinea as it had an ultra low compression motor fitted so that it could run on the very poor quality fuels/Kero that were all that was available in the highlands. He replaced the motor with a standard 1600 TP.

It was a mix of parts - Bay front (foward of the B pillars) and late '50's rear, but with late '60s (68 ish) running gear. Unfortunatly the steering box was almost knackered, so there was a heap of slack in the steering which made dodging around the other Knobs on the Gold Coast roads an interesting task.

I believe he sold it to someone in Sydney soon after I drove it - haven't seen it since.

It was an '86 model...I think thats what he said...

These were made in Brazil, right through the 80's, they were also exported to new Zealand, there are quiet a few over there, and rust out like no other Kombi I have seen.
They are King and link front end, wide 5 drums, IRS rear end, with forks and cradle like a splitty, and the weirdest IRS gearbox you will ever see.

The fleetline Kombis were made in South Africa and were still split screens right through to the mid '70's, they were avaliable and sold along side the bay Kombis as a cheeper unit.
