Panel Vans Suck

Going with Heidi's theme....

Here's a pic of my 67, which is not as good as the soon to be picked up early 60's one, so Saturday will be a sad day, jeez I loved that van....but I don't have the room for it - balh blah ....

anyway, thought I show off the drop sills and the just installed IRS and Front Adjusters, by the dark side of Volkwagenism.

Why is it that if you leave a panel van anywhere near a VW shop, people feel the need to put their crap in your van. And it's never crap worth snaffling. So when you sneek off for an hour to play with yer bus, you waste 15 minutes removing the junk...or is it just me.

Anyway, the bus if comming home next week for high fill and airbrushing/paint then the goodies stuck in....aiming for a trip to the Kombi Record thing...still sulking that I am now down to the one panel van....but hopefully that won't be a permanent arrangement.

Supervac is not a bad score though, have to start somewhere, perhaps you will be able to kit out a workshop after a couple of years. :dork:

Not sure where my doors are - somewhere in 'fix my rust' world...if I have doors, I could paint it.

Currently working on templates for trimming out the inners....while waiting for my doors....is a cab divider with a plasma a bit over the top ya think?

Anyone know where I can get some 'harley' type indicators for bugger all? just need em for the blue slip...Penrith area.

Anyone fitted LED lights or Neons?????

it's straight, but just about everything that rusts, did rust, so it's had MAJOR repairs to everything...will come up okay, but won't ever be the 'best' panel van - due to the amount of repairs really. I just need a big back door one.

It's in guide-coat, so still needs rubbing back, high fill and paint ... after advice from some nice people in AVD, I'm gonna have a crack at painting it myself, not sure if to go for a full airbrush custom paint job, or just a single colour....I am half temped to clone the MOJO bus, which is definately my fave bus of all time.

The one I've just sold is way better than this one ... long story ... but hopefully the new owner will finish it...similar idea, dropped everything...I'm into the idea of making them look lower than they actually are, that way can still carry lots of stuff.

You'd be allowed if you hadn't blown the family fortune on a completely mad buggy that is about as child friendly as Hier Mengler....nope Damo's van is still in bits...gonna get danny to tow it home next weekend and finish the damn thing ... good news is AAMI coughed up got the lifted Commode, so have got the dosh to get another split.....double door anyone?....please.....

and heres a better pic of the drop sills - no, the arches are just extended to meet the new line, not tubbed or anything....got Indian to make 'em that way, never really liked the original look, always thought the sills needed to be deeper....nn[ Edited on 5-8-2005 by crewcabconnection ]
