what pan to start with?
if i wanted IRS, disk brakes all round and wide 5 stud pattern on a beetle pan, whats the best option to start with?

What about a super pan, butchered for balljoint framehead and wide 5 drums instead. It'd be a hell of a lot cheaper. |

its a long term thing, so expensive is ok, just have to save for the dear parts.
are there many 68 auto pans around? i was thinking of a 1970 as id have to change the stud pattern anyway.
do 68 auto's have disk on the front ?

68 or so semi auto pan, or a 76 model and u will have to get adaptors to make it wide 5 again.

Just go with any Ball Joint Pan then get it changed over to IRS. Will work out about the same cost wise and then you can get heavier pivot box's and
stuff

Steer clear of king & link front ends. 72 and earlier pans generally have less RTA / Vic roads restrictions than later pans.

Yup, all bj/irs. You'll have to put a clutch tube in, unless you're lucky and it's already been done. I was going to bring one down from Albury
with killakornkobb (Damien) as he was interested in the gearbox. It was going to be fairly cheap (other than the shipping) but it's not available
until November now I think. Are you interested in it? |
