Damien's first run in traffic on old slicks (1:15 seconds......BLOODY TRAFFIC!).....was just glad to make boost after crossing the start line.........that was an improvement over last year already

Paul's first run EVER in the car, on the old slicks........equaling his times in his race beetle last year (1:12 seconds)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8DR1xI4Ej8

Damien on good tyres........(1:10.70 sec)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ77x1JLI-w

........Seriously tho, unlike the "norm" for us, we've actually been chipping away for a few weeks.

BIG wheels have some radial slicks opposed to the old ply style ones. This should work better with the amount of camber the car is running. They bit fatter too at 265 fronts and 290 out the back......pitty they not brand new, but have enough life in them to test the theory. All the tyres are being coated with slick softening treatment "GRIP" at the moment, as per usual

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture507Medium.jpg

New kombi master cylinder has helped feel on the pedal heaps. It's 21mm bore over the old 19. Bit of fiddling with new hard lines and lengthening of pushrod to get it in. New race fluid of course (easy task with a vacumn bleeder )

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture505Medium.jpg

Rear needed some new bearings both sides.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture510Medium.jpg

Back together okay....and swapped out the standard falcon line to braided teflon after this pic was taken.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture513Medium-1.jpg

....Gotroundtoit with the NACA ducts for rear brakes. Front ones come in through the now removed indicator holes.0

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture532Medium.jpg

Got side tracked talking about how we'd rather be fitting the oxyboxer that's waiting VERY patiently.....

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture517Medium.jpg

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture520Medium.jpg

Charged the battery, serviced the air cleaner, primed the fuel up to pressure with the pumps, turned over till it had oil pressure with the freshly changed oil.........added the fuse to the injector relay..........AND BAMM, first go she fired back to life tonight. Pretty unbelievable really :ninja:

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/dumone/Picture533Medium.jpg

Soooo that's the usual chasing ya tail maintainence done. Jeffs enjoying himself and making up a fresh air box to seal the aircleaner away from the engine bay and I've been tracking people down to help knock up some "elements" for the already done uprights of the rear wing.

Blew engine 2014.

Have gathered parts for new donk with more power, just other priorities.

Gearbox has been pulled and inspected, amazingly, no signs of the absolute flogging it had been subjected to.

Box has been reasembled so now move forward again.
