Advice on relocating / Replacing fuel tank?
Hey guys,
I'm in the process of fitting an EJ22 to my 1970 Beetle. We're up to the radiator. I want to fit it where the fuel tank normally sits, which gives
us plenty of air flow with minimal cutting (see pic).
Problem is, I obviously still need a fuel tank. Any suggestions on relocating the factory fuel tank? Failing that, can anyone suggest somewhere that I
could get a custom tank made / buy one off the shelf?

where is the hot air going to vent after the fan sucks air?
or
are you cutting a hole in the front of the car and forcing air down through the radiator?, effectively eliminating the whole luggage area up front.

To have flow,u need an inlet and and outlet,cant see an outlet.Have a look at Jaks and Boofs cars,anyway goodluck with your project man :thumb |

Was planning on mounting two thermo fans in the gap beside the radiator, blowing the air back out again, and sealing the whole lot with a shroud...
Would that provide enough flow?

there are places around that make customised fuel tanks etc for drag cars and the like... have you thought of a slimline tank that would mount in the
luggage compartment but further up nearer the dash?
i have seen several bugs with radiators mounted either in front of the spare wheel well or in it and modification to the front to make it like a
grille effect for airflow... a few cutouts in the top section of the bonnet will allow the air out of the compartment. this way you could put the tank
back where it is normally mounted.
