Cuttin, fittin and weldin on the barnster
Well, made a bit of progrss on the barnster today. Finished cutting away the rusty metal and started fitting some new stuff...made new rear wheel
well closing panel and pillar bottom. Started fitting new inner rocker panel - then ran out of gas in the MIG! Don't you hate that? I was on a
roll too!
Won't take long to do this side - outriggers, pillar bottoms, replace end of top hat sections, rockers, floor........going to have to make an
outer belly pan which is going to be a drag but.....
Bigger pics here if you want to look:

Ode to a fridge
*sigh*. I am recently bereaved….left fridgeless. The fridge was in the little ‘cleanroom’ workshop next door. It belonged to number one daughter
who bought it new when she flatted independently for about 3 months before moving in with her significant other.
We got to store the fridge. It was a 3 month old 380 litre Kelvinator. It was the coldest fridge I have ever seen. I felt obliged to keep it
stocked and running so it would not become known as a garage queen, for as we all know, garage queens are impractical things of no use to anybody……so
I had a beautiful new white big cold fridge as my workshop fridge. This happy situation lasted for two years – it was nirvana ( I was considering a
small wall mounted television and a couch....)
Then, only one month ago, my number one daughter sold the fridge to help pay her uni fees. Sold it to a farmer who was going to put MY fridge in HIS
shed and keep DOG FOOD in it. The fridge is GONE…….after a two year relationship where she and I had gotten to know each other intimately……..I am
devastated and alone. We all know that farmers are not kind to their fridges. She’ll end up rusting away in a gully, turned upside down with the
door hanging open, lying on top of all those split window busses
………perhaps someday an enthusiast will pull her out and restore her.
RIP.

Go out and buy one of those old rounded fridges and paint it to look like a splittie sitting on it's tailgate!
