Virus Alert

I dont normally spread Viri alerts but on this occasion I'm instigating one.

I use my "real" email address here and it's the only open place that I do.
a while back the aussieveedubber site was sniffed and some of us got junk mail.

This morning I have 4 emails all containing Viri.

So if you have any mails from big@boss.com (Which is a fake address) dont open them.

I have traced the source of the emails and inform the appropriate ISP in the UK, but as it's a worm the party who sent it may not even know about it.

Anyway Nortons picks it up, dont know about the others but NOW might be a good time to update your definitions.

Anyway hope this helps someone.

BTW info on the specific Virus involved can be found at: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sobig.a@mm.html

I got that one too fatboy, fortunately in my yahoo mail which scans if you ask it to... I figured it looked like a virus anyway before I scanned it. What sorta person opens a .doc file from someone they don't know?? *shrugs*

Nice to know where it came from

Nortons quarantines mine if something is detected but have not had anything from this address sent to me

I find the developers & speaders of viruses very boring, wish they'd get a life and not do this to people
