WTB: 60s model complete Dub
Looking for a mechanically sound early 60s bug.
frame must be pristeen, body can be a lil worn, interior can be fair.
looking at around the $4000 mark max, perhaps a little more.
located in Sydney, will travel certain distances in NSW to buy.
further wish list.
to put it easily, basically a herbie, minus the sunroof.
canadian style bumpers, 1.2L or more, 12V, no major damage.
My only dilemma is I would wish to pay for it over the spread of 2 months, so 2000 1 month and 2000 the next, or similar dependant on price.
TY and sorry for draggy first post.

Has some period low back seats (red/grey) been installed since this thread.. They are in great condition.. The interior needs re-trimming (headliner
etc).. The body could do with paint at some stage but fine as it is.. I have a complete set of glass.. A K&L adjustable front beam and a bunch of
other bits to go with it (a 2nd complete set of rims and tyres).. Altogether just what you need to get started.. I'll throw the whole lot in for 3
grand.. No offers..

Ok, you have my full and upmost attention. I would wish to see it first before 100% agreeing, but this is near exactly what I want.
just a few more questions though.
i notice uve done the 1600tp on it (cool cool ) but is it the existing
1300 gbox?
what brakes, still drum fronts, or are they disc?
what are the fuel specs, how many miles per gallon, or however u wanna measure it?
Are the shocks in good cond?
what about the battery pan is there any rust in that area?
sorry being so many questions but im buying this bug to replace a car of mine i have delayed fixing and now need a Good daily driver.

OK.. Somethings I have no idea of because I have only used this car a few times.. It was bought for my son but he is now going to get a Kombi..
I have not touched the mechanicals.. They are as they were when bought.. I have had it serviced etc..
Brakes are drums all round.. I suggest a smart thing to do would be (depending on budget) to convert the spare beam to discs before you change it
over..
Fuel specs, I would have no idea..
Shocks are fine.. If they are worn etc, I would have replaced them
The whole pan is in excellent condition
This car would be an ideal daily with the odd weekend spent doing odd jobs on it.. It's not pretty but for the money it is a great startup daily
driver and weekend hobby.. My first advice would be to get the engine bay sealed (rubbers missing) and then re-tune the motor.. I was then going to do
a full (glass out) paint job before I did the interior trim, rubbers and new glass (which comes with the car).. All the chrome is good..
Thats about all I can tell you.. If I had time and less projects I'd love to get this baby into tip top condition..

hmmmmmmm, ok, id say in person is easier to judge than via pictures.
from the pics im impessed, but kinda reading different reactoins in words.
contact me via email and lets discuss how i could possibly view it 1 day.
the main thing over all im having troubles with is people accepting my paying in 2 lumps, so long as that is fine with you, then we have an outlook of
a sale.
TY
just 1 other question tho, the 2nd set of wheels, are they the wise ones u mentioned from an earlier post? TY
