That sucks bigtime. That and kids pinching badges and dickheads who key paintjobs. The only thing for it is not to park in the lane anymore.

no choice
had to park in the lane cos the ragtop is in bare metal, taking up the garage posi.
i am hoping to get it out of the garage and into the workshop real soon.
after the cap got pinched i moved the car into the back yard. now its like the castle when i want to go out tho

have to open the gates to move the landcruiser into the lane to get the vw into the lane b4 i can move the landcruiser back into the yard. then shut
the gates and go.
phew.
:o:o
now you know why i dont get out much

you can never have too much garage space

Yes that stinks,
I had a set of 44IDF Webers stolen off my Kombi when it was parked in the driveway at home, never saw them again.

They unbolted your carby,s in your driveway???
Gotta give em an A+ for balls.
Doesn't say much for your neighbours though, or are cars being fixed in your drive a common site?
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

really sorry to hear that, our Kombi came with a locking engine cover, & I thought GREAT - then I thought what if there is an engine fire:o &
now it mostly stays unlocked, it is very easy to steal things from a Kombi engine bay as you are so concealed, not like you are standing over the
bonnet or something, theft of petrol caps is an age old thing - I remember when the Mark 1 Cortina came out about 1964 it had a colour matched cap,
but in just a few years very few of them had a matching cap. My Humber unfortunately has the R.H. Reflector as the petrol Cap, therefore hidden to
anybody other than those you know Humbers (not very many now!!) but I have had 2 of these very rare items stolen- by obviously another Humber owner!
my fuel filler is now in the boot, just like a Beetle!! |

Bastards.
I had my old Beetle broken into once, by some moron kicking in the passenger vent window. They pinched the radio knobs, the square carpet floormats,
my stock shift knob, the pen and street directory in the glovebox, a jumper from the back seat and, for kicks, the distributor cap!
My Kombi has only been finished less than 6 months, and already some dickhead has stolen the little chrome caps from all four of my tyre valves ! Only
noticed that last week.

I think shooting would be the best treatment for these thieves (OK, maybe cutting their hands off or whipping for non-VW offences,) but our legal
system would just let the little sods walk...
Unfortunately, sitting on your verandah nursing a shotgun is liable to get you into more trouble than the.
