Hey fellas, from a NSW perspective -
What is the RACV centre like? Do you find people are happy to drive into the city for meetings? Is there anywhere to gather and look at
everyone's car?
Sydney might be a lot different. No one drives into the Sydney CBD unless they have to. The NSW equivalent of the RACV is the NRMA, and they have a
big shiny 40-storey office building in the CBD. But who knows whether they have a meeting room, nice restaurant and bar for car club members to meet!
I bet they don't. The NRMA seems to be a greedy corporation now, not a motorists' association any more.
And I bet no one here would want to drive into the city, pay for parking in an underground carpark then go up into a corporate headquarters for a
meeting.
In Sydney, RSL and leagues clubs are the place to meet. Club Veedub meets at the Greyhound Club in Yagoona, in the south west suburbs. Nice
comfortable club, good room and good food and drink. And the carpark is right outside the front door, so we can look at each others' VWs!
Sounds like things are a lot different in Victoria - hope the RACV doesn't try to follow the NRMA!

Parking is at the RACV Club. Enter from Lt Collins St.
They put the car in a car elevator and park it somewhere down stairs, unless you tell them not too. Cost is $5.
Haven't heard anyone complain about the drive into the CBD but Melbourne is a lot easier to get around in. We all live in different directions
out of town so it is central.
Guess we see each others rides on cruises or events so not a lot of car looking gets done unless there is a new member wanting some information, or
someone has finished a project and everyone wants a look etc.
I work in the city and so hang around until the meeting, others drive in after work. Most people have a meal when they get there and a few drinks,
then coffee after the meeting before the drive home. |

I know it wouldbe impossible for any Sydney siders to meet in the CBD....
as FILL said no one wants to go in there unless they have to for work on a PUB crawl or something like that.
YEs our meeting place is unique plent of room to go outside n chat in the car park after the meeting
