CD stacker placement
Contemplating a few different spots for the cd stacker.
original idea was under rear seat on opposite side to battery.
downside is running a thick output cable to stereo for FM modulator.
other thought was in front cargo area.
downside, gotta patch off a power section, make bracket and cant get cds changed by passengers whilst driving.
someone suggested within the glovebox. but i want a glovebox.
..... any ideas on prime location.
was told to reconsider having it in the front with the petrol tank due to 'static' build up.
considering most the electrics are in the same area i fail to see further danger.....
any input. TY

Buy an ipod and it will fit in the glove box and still leave you tons of room for other things, plus you can store more than 10 cds on it and they are
rather cool, and depending on your HU you can control and charge it from your HU.
Cd stackers are going the way of the VCR

Hi
Good advice on the Ipod. Ive been told that under the front seats stackers get the smoothest ride possible.

Until ipod have a line in digital record feature, i'm sticking with my obsolete MD.
went the CD stacker coz it cost me 50$

I'm pretty sure MD can hold like about 5-7 albums worth of music, ( depending on how its compressed). I would stick with the MD till running an ipod
to save drilling mounting holes for the stacker. It would leave you with a cleaner install. But if you were going to go with the stacker, at least
under the seat it can be changed without getting out of the car.

i run under the passanger seat and dont have any problems with skipping unless im going over speedhump

ive got mine mounted to the underside of my speaker box which goes behind the rear seat. Its got 2 speakers and a small woofer, then onto the front of
the box is the amp and the stacker on the underside. I built the box so the enclosed area isnt full height
no one even knows its there, never have probs with skipping. the only prob is getting to it means i have to pull the rear seat forward... cos thats
such a huge issue PFT
plus got a line in cable sticking into my glovebox for my ipod

I am looking at mounting a 6 disc stacker under the front passenger seat and having the head unit (which is tiny as it is only a CD player and not
tuner) into the glovebox. I don't want to mount the head unit in my dash as I have a perfect uncut padded dash and I don't want it spoilt!

I have mine installed under the drivers seat which makes it very easy to access... not that I do it all that often but it makes it convienent if you
have a second cassette. |

We put out 10 stack and amp behind the rear seat on a custom made stand. We then put velcro on the bottom of the stand so it would grip the carpet
there and put a shelf over the top with the speakers in it. It works well and never skips. Only thing is you do have to move the seat back forward
to change CDs.
