How much to respray a Beetle?

I guess this has been asked many times but how much to respray a Beetle (full body), is 2k reasonable for single colour spray/undercoat, if body work and rust curing is done?

Cheers H

That sounds reasonable.

Is your 2 grand quote from a panel and paint shop or a back yarder..???
either way, if you are going with them, get it IN WRITING before you give them the car...
At 2 grand I wouldn't expect them to be pulling off panles, so if they're not off already, the car may come back with fender welting painted the same as the car..
These days, 2 grand is a pretty cheap job, so don't expect a showroom finish, but the more "Quaility" prep work YOU can do, before the paint goes on, the better the end result will be..
Best of luck with it and please try to get some before and after photos for us...

2k sounds a little cheap.... I'd definately agree with getting a few quotes... check if they have done some resto's.... though if your prep work is thorough I reckon 3k would get you something quite nice... though this is based on research I did about 3years ago round Melbourne...

bloody hell makes me realise i got a sweet deal on mine
i knew the spray painter well but it wasnt really mates rates for me as such
i delivered the bug to him stripped down pretty much completely but still drivable (lights and glass still in)
he repaired any dings and painted it inside and out with 2 pak for $1700
i was lucky though my car was rust free to start with which always helps
its over 4 years now since it was painted its has only been polished once and still looks as good as the day it was done cept for a few stone chips
