Shannons. They recognise Manxs and everything. That's who I'm insured with. Also, if you get your CTP greenslip with AAMI you get discount from Shannons. Ring up Shannons and ask them, they're very good. :tu:

I guess it depends on what sort of buggy and what sort of insurance you want. Is your buggy a standard wheelabase registered as a beetle? If so If you go to somewhere like Just Cars, Vigil (my insurer, shannons etc, you can easily get it inusred as a modified beetle and do any mods as long as its roadworthy etc. I have 3rd party+fire+theft on my buggy (lwb registered as a beetle), insured for $13,000 and its only $200-300/year, and under 25 as well!

If its a short wheelbase, they could classify it under anything and could charge accordingly, however i know a few people who have them insured at reasonable prices.

I didn't bother going comprehensive as I thought if I have a bingle i could *easily* fix it myself, since i built it. And if it was comprehensive, I don't think too many people would touch it anyway to repair. Only real disadvantage would be if i completely wrote it off.

As I said, shannons recognise Meyer's Manxes, which are by definition SWB. Give them a call. It'll cost you a few hundred dollars if you only used it a little bit.

Mine is through Shannon's and is $128 a year full comprehensive, agreed value and limited use ie. less than 4000km a year. It helps to have other policies with them to get a good discount (house insurance etc):beer:beer

I got mine insured with shannons. About the same price as the others. I told them i would use it 3 or 4 times a week. They said no worries. Always best to tell them upfront. That way you cover your own back.

I would recommend shannons. Did to my mate. Now he has his three bikes, car and all his house with them.

Yes, Shannons did my LWB, the bloke inspected it and knew what it was. Just above $600 per year, insured for $15000. clarkey.
