Howdy folks im a newbie
just a quick hello.
Im over from Ireland, currently on a 12 month working visa but after experiencing the weather and lifestyle here i never want to go home.
so if i do stay here i will be looking for a project splittie but i havent seen many for sale or even around australia.
it will be a while before i am in the market for one but was just looking for general info on whether they are widely available.i wont be looking for
a finished product unless its really cheap (and we all know the likelyhood of that)
thanks folks
p.s i attached a picture or the kombi i sold to pay for my trip over here.

hey Im a Scot who has been over here for about 2 and a half years so far. There are splittys around, they are just hiding.
What spec was your bay?
Mate had a 2ltr with some mild tuning that we took round europe, went to lemans for the 24hr then down to spain and around a bit

Hi fireball, mine was the 2 ltr twin carb but no mods.
i never fully finished it either.the interior was still bare when i sold it.decided to come over to Oz instead.
strong vw scene in ireland now too.not too many splits as u can imagine.rust got them a long time ago :cry
mine was the late bay and even that suffered from rust along the bottom 6 inches of nearly every panel !
so the splitties are hiding?hopefully one will find me.
was there many imported to begin with?i heard there wasnt but id love to know the exact figures. |
