if all you need to do is repairs, go to a hardware and you'll find all that you need. if you are after large amounts of high quality glass, talk to a surfboard maker. they have some great stuff.

are you talking fiberglass or carbon fiber (also heaps of variations of each)?

You can buy fiberglass stuff anywhere. Boat places always have heaps. Find a fiberglass place to get the best price.

If your trying to do it in carbon fiber you'll have problems. Carbon fiber is heaps more toxic to work with. Buy some real good breathing gear. It will also be harder to find.

Check your local newsagent for a mag called "Performance Buildups," then get some back issues. They've done some great articles on composite materials; how to make molds, etc. Carbon fibre is apparently very difficult to work and not really necessary for running boards (they are not structural, they were added when they found excessive amounts of mud thrown up the sides of the prototypes.)

'Glassing takes a lot of practice, ask any surfboard crafter, but good luck; if you find you're good at it, you've got a job for life! :D
