BMW straight-4 in a bug?
I have a 93 1.8 4-cylinder bmw engine and might want to put that in my bug since I already have a cooling system, big brakes and the workes and my
EJ20TT won't work.
Anyone done this conversion or seen it done? Haven't measured things up yet but it isn't a big engine 118hp won't be bad in a lightweight bug.

had 6 wires on the secondary turbo side melted against the turbo, replaced them and 1 broken injector but ony thing that happens now when applying
power to the system is the ECU's relais that clicks and nothing more.
Maybe next week a guy is coming over the check all the wiring and the sensors with special equipment (oscilloscope). Also, since there are very very
few subaru's in my country and it's a JDM engine I can't simply take it to the local dealership and have a read out to find the problem.

Convert this to a single turbo , get an aftermarket ecu , and you have 190 at the wheels
TT ecus require the speedo connected from the subaru + the fuel gauge from what I can work out .
you need also speed cut VSS drive

i agree dude, dont cut your losses with the suba just yet,
get your handa on a single turbo, and make or find the exhaust manifold and exhaust n get a new ecu. From there you can buy straight up wiring loom
kits which plug right in!

If I can buy an intake+ outlet manifold, stock turbo or bigger + an ECU that doesn't require a engineer's diploma to work with I'd swap the bits
over but over here there's not even a chance of finding that.
Already contacted outback motorsports in the US and Australia about it without reply

Just thought of something, my TT engine has 4 seperate coils for each spark plug.
From what I've seen most single turbo engine's have 2 coil pack, how will this match up to the spark plugs? I mean are the holes where my coils fit
the spark plugs the same as on a single turbo?

Definately go Sunspares in QLD. A wiring harness ready to plug in cost me A$250 with all the instructions for an idiot included. They will have all
the gear you need incl. TD04 and stock ecu etc.
