New project, 1303 with no wings (said with a cockney accent)

Hi

I picked up a new project the other day, a 73 1303 (L bug). Its a long story but years ago I worked with a guy named John Polden who had a 73 1303, 2180 cc with 48 IDAs etc, it did 13.2 1/4s in the late 70s, he bought the car in 1975. He got into curcuit racing and found the 2180 was needing too much work to keep it running on the track, he then fiited a 12A rotary from a group C touring car. He parked the car in his garage in 1985 and didnt drive it again. He told he was selling it very cheap and before I had a chance to say that I wanted to buy it he had sold it to a friend of mine, Richard at V Force ( http://www.beetleracing.com ) Richard only wanted it for some bits that he could get of it and gave it to me.

My friend who built the car fitted a rack from a 75 1303 and spent 2 days on an alignment machine getting 0 bump steer.

I have it stored in a mates big shed at Picton at the moment, I will get it back on the road one day. So all I really have is a rust free shell & chassis which suits me perfectly.
