Type 3 Sled - Spy Pics (Daylight pics added 1/8/06) Now For Sale
It was a dark and icey night at the HAMBster Garage. We took a moment from the construction of the HAMB Gas Rails to look at Mark's 'Cowboy' latest
little ride.
A bit of a change from rods and kustoms that are his usual fare... he took a poor old notch and a fastback roof that was rescued while on a trailer
while on its way to the tip.
He gathered up some spats left over from a '49 Merc kustom build, a swapmeet special '54 Ford Cusso bonnet, an FC grille shell, some steel, a hot
axe and a welder.
To turn out the Sled...

Next on the agenda is a little more chop at the back and a blown 1800 Type 4 engine.

Got some more pics of Mark's car today in sunlight down at the Woronora River... will post in a day or two.
Got the wide whites on too now.
Looking pretty good sitting with 3 '34 Ford coupes, a tall T coupe and a T-bucket, an A tudor, a Duece coupe, a '37 and a '40 Ford coupe, a '57
Chev and 60 Chev. It became known as the micro-merc down at the river...

Yes. A late notch. The fasty roof was saved from the tip. About 4" out fo the pillars and the fasty roof grafted on.
The cusso bonnet took a fair bit of work to fit to the VW bonnet frame! But the Cowboy likes a challenge.

a lot of crazy idea's have gone into this, and i'd hate to think how many hours of cutting and welding it took.....
brilliant result tho'
with the current trend of hotrod bugs this is a nice addition!

I'm trying to convince him to let me at it with a brush! But there's gonna be a little more slicing yet til he's happy with the shape, so maybe
after he sees the HAMBsters get painted.
He's into the blown Type IV now, so that'll take up his time for a while.

Car is now for sale due to a new project on the horizon...
Serious interested people can call Mark Campbell on 0411 646 859. Offers should reflect the work gone into the car.
The car might also be at Valla on Sunday.
Ad in for sales in a couple of days.

He's working on the blown 1800 for it now, so isn't actively trying to sell it. If an interested buyer comes along I'm sure he'd be happy to let
it go and move on to yet another project.
The original roof of the notch is now being used as part of the body of a HAMBster! Finally a bit ov VW going into one of them!
The Cowboy (Mark) also wishes to express his thanks to those who helped out on the road on the Valla weekend. I believe it was Lee Shaw and a couple
of DSK folk...
