Hi Guys,
Everything busy this end.
Been doing a tranny for Craig Hughes for warwick.
My car came up fine after the last T&T on a few weeks ago.
So just have to plan my next move with the fuel system.

Tomorrow is the day to get all my stuff together and load the car on the trailer.

I know that Pagey has been busy putting a new clutch into Rod's (48IDA) car.

I think Macca and Morgie are on their way up here from Woolongong very soon,
and not sure about Wally(perhaps cleaning his fuel system?),
but he will be helping Craig Hughes, to get his 57/58 ready for Warwick.

I've been trying to get this thing finished in time - it will be tight (some late nights ahead I think - at least they are predicting fine weather so I can work on it in the driveway!).

Pete & Lisa Page dropped around today with a few things I need, and Pete summed up perfectly my attempt to get the '57 ready for Warwick - "absolute madness! A magazine to publish, a new drag event to organise and a barn yard relic to transform into a racer!"

Yep, Pete's right. Apart from the last minute things to organise for the Warwick weekend, the car still needs the following completed:

1. Gearbox to go in, with modifications to be made to fit the late box into the early pan.

2. Motor to go in.

3. Rear brakes to be re-assembled.

4. Custom fuel tank to be fitted.

5. New fuel line to be run from front to back.

6. tacho to wire-up.

7. Race seat and harness to install.

8. Rear decklid stand-offs.

9. Front bonnet straps to be fitted.

Who needs sleep?

Here are some pics so far. Car arrived beginning of August. Things that have been done thus far include, new front suspension, dropped spindles, new tierods and ends, new steering box, new master cylinder, front frame cleaned and painted, new brakes and drums, rear end cleaned and painted, new rear brakes and drums, interior gutted and cleaned, new race seat constructed. Engine is built (Rod Penrose) and gearbox finished (Dave Butler), fuel tank done (Custom Off Road) and race seat trimmed (Outrage Motor Trimmers).

Believe me when I say it, but the guy who owned it before (one owner car) never drove on one sealed road his entire life. I've topped dressed the lawn twice.

Running standard 1200 brakes. If time allowed I would have narrowed the beam, used adjusters and put on discs.

To all those concerned,

I had one of these at the Test n' Tune Night on 9th September - absolutely delicous.

Nothing better than fast cars, adrelin pumping, the smell of race fuel, the smell of burning rubber and a scrumptious muffin!!!
