I might have been wrong. I just thought 13b turbo makes too much capacity to weight. However is it the original weight of vehicle or weight at
engineering? We all had to be 860kg on the day for 2 litre turbo.

Sorry matey. I think you've misunderstood me. I think rotors are awesome. Really amazing engines. My comment about 2nd handies needing rebuilds was
not meant to denigrate them at all. It's just that anyone I've ever talked to who bought one or owned one needed to have the motor rebuilt if it was
a junkyard motor. Subarus just seem to be different is all.
Also my comments about subaru motors in rear wheel drive drag cars were just specualtion of what I could see happening at the drags. Everyone knows
4WD need a lot more power to be nearly as fast as a good rear drive car. But I do think if set up right subaru boxers could be competetive with the
rotors. For no other reason than a proper build up. I also understand why people haven't used them in RWD cars up until now. There are very few small
cars they would fit in because of their shape, and SR20s and the like are good to begin with. People just haven't seen the need to go to all the
effort.
Boof, I think a well rounded comparison like you are proposing would be great. Surely SBS or similar would pick it up. It's just the sort of thing
that would appeal to the car culture.
As part of it, you could find people who own/used to own oval window beetles and put in quick grabs describing their experiences. Could be all sorts
of people from fogeys who owned them back in the day, to Alex Hozsl and his race/show car.

13bt is not legal for a beetle in NSW. A 20bt is completely out of the question. And besides, it's not really a fair comparison then.

I will have to agree with Pete wood on the topic of rotary's from a wreckers of junk yard. My conversion was such a case, bought a series 5 rx7 (non
turbo) from the wreckers as being a good strong runner, bought it home completed the conversion only to find out that the warantty on the engine had
expired and that the engines block was nothing more then a paper weight. The only usfull thing on the motor was the injection system ( minus computer)
and the nuts and bolts that held the engine together. Even though the conversion eventually turnt out to be absolutly awsome with more punch one could
poke a stick at be cautoius on what engine you chose and where you get it from ( IN my case a rotary conversion cost an arm and a leg due to the need
for an engine rebuild.

heres mine and my engineer wouldpass a 13bt in it .
with weight its the orignal weight of the car.
the rigoli car was rear wheel drive
porsche box.a rotory would suit a vw box due tothe torque curve.

I think the show "Overhaulin" would give you a hard time getting your show started with a name so similar.
Its a show in the states where they steal someones car, and overhaul it/ pimp it out.
