Hey Glen.

No, missed a ferry by 15 minutes (5.15). They left on the hour, so next one was to be 6pm. Amazer and Jay dropped me off at Parramatta Station and I went into Circular Quay.

Walked down to The Oyster Bar, sat at a table next to the water and feasted until I had to catch the train to the airport.

Hmmm, thought I had plenty of time. Was enjoying the view so much that I decided to order coffe and sit a little longer thinking trains run frequently to airport. Had 'tourists' taking a long time to get their tickets out of machine in front of me. Missed a train, caught next to Central and changed to airport train which sat at station for what seemed like forever. Arrived at Mascot domestic @ 7.55 for 8.15 flight. Ran from train up escalators, along walk ramps and across carpark making it to the express check in @ 8pm to be told the paper work for my flight had been done and that I would have to take the next plane:cry (didn't even have any luggage to check in:()

Well it was the first ever plane I've missed in my life. Had to ring Dougie to tell him I'd be an hour late and $$$ poorer

It turned into a very expensive evening, but hey the food and the view were to die for. Couldn't complain I had an excellent day, just shouldn't have stayed to have the coffee (really didn't want to leave the view)

Will have to do the Parramatta River another time, everyone was telling me what a nice trip it is:)

Cheers

Damn, that's shitty. I've made flights as they've been closing the door and still got on.

That's just rude. Let me guess, you were flying with the Virgins? They're complete nazis for late arrivers - that's how they make their money.

Have arrived 15 minutes before a flight in Melbourne and got on OK. It was Virgin but I found Sydney airport stricter.

Had Doug's vent windows in my duffle bag and the woman at security was going to get tough but I think she sensed that I'd had enough and backed off. My silver braclets set off they sensors but not in Melbourne

To get through the metal sensors when you have a bit of metal on you, walk slower.

Walking faster creates more of a flux in the field, which sets off the alarm threshold.

But there's some amount of metal that will always set off the alarms regardless of the speed you do.

Na the windows went on the belt to be xrayed or what ever (on the belt), sillys:D

Duffle bag was heavy but windows fitted in and I was not going to have them broken in the hold. Plus did not want to have to wait for luggage.

Had stopped running by this time. Knew I had an hour to spare......

Hmmmm, my run from the train was a classic, like something out of that reality series 'Airport'

Baaah missing one plane is easy. When you can miss 2 planes in 2 trips thats when you know you're clever and it wasnt just a fluke.

Hmmm, I think I'll be a slow learner but hoping not.

Got to know my weaknesses:jesus

Oysters, wine to wash them down, Sydney Harbour, sweet old ferries, views to die for, day dreams, sharing the moment via text messages to Dougie, really not wanting to go or move cos it was so nice there......

The coffee was an excuse to stay longer. I was very slack not checking a train timetable but then I did have those people in front stuffing around at the ticket machine forever and missed a train which would have got me there 10 mins earlier and on my flight. Hmmm, guess most people allow for these things, I don't. Usually live on the edge just a little, makes life more interesting:o

OK, will I learn???????????? Will try to:sandrine
