2lt engine rebuild BNE

I need recommendations for someone to rebuild my 1976 kombi 2lt twin carb motor.
Preferably you have had your engine rebuilt from this person and find it to be reliable.

I'm located in brisbane.

Are there any simple upgrades I should consider to moderize this stock engine apart from getting it to run unleaded?

Thanks

I had Gary at Conti Engines on Bribie (07 34083177) rebuild mine. She doesn't miss a beat and I put 140km everyday on her.:tu:

I had Gary at Conti engines do my type IV heads (no probs so far), but had Leon's motors assemble the long block - also would recommend their services. Both very helpful - I guess you either go to bribie island for conti, or southside brissy for leon.

Of course there are others out there too!

I had Conti engines build my CJ 2 litre about 5 years ago, was good, ran that engine for about 120000 k's, no dramas, but now i just build my own engines.

This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.
