2 litre into karman?
I just acquired a 2 lire kombi motor and box of unknown vintage for the right price (free). What's involved in fitting it to a 59 karman ? The
floorpan is already set up for IRS, but I'm guessing there will be some sheet metal cutting involved ?

If you leave it in the flat cooling setup yes you will have to cut sheetmetal, which aint the right way to go about it and you would upset a few
people, the only way to get it to fit is to change it to upright cooling, ie porsche cooling or DTM, i got a DTM from Jake Raby of Aircooled
technology in the states for $1200.00 all up, this kit is the best you can get. If you get the deluxe DTM kit from him it has everyting you need for
the conversion. As for the gearbox sell it so some one can use it in their manx or Baja, if it is a 6 rib tranny you can sell it for around $500.
You will need a 210 or 215mm flywheel from a 1700 or 1800 type 4 engine, the 228mm flywheel is to big and won't mesh with the starter properly. I
am currently doing this conversion for my 66 beetle. Cheers Damo.
This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.

I think Jake Raby is developing an injection system as well. They also have brackets for the air conditioner if you want to add that.
