Vanagon 2 Syncro
Probably age old question, but i had the thought today.
Can anyone inform me as to the possibilities of converting my caravelle to a caravelle syncro.
Meaning can i pinch the running gear off something else preferably VW and throw underneath with mods?
Has anyone done this?
I ask because they are hard to find (syncro's) at right money for a buyer, yes i understand what they are worth, i love them. Probable could never
afford a real one as i wouldnt want to bargain someone down on something i have so much respect for, make sense?? :blah:blah
Keep the steering and the propulsion seperate . Still a Kombi...
It's all good, until it's bad, i suppose

Keep an eye out for a wrecked syncro and transfer all the drivetrain to your caravelle. No idea if the standard shell would require many mods but you
could have look how it all fits together if you bought a workshop manual for a syncro.
Just stick some bigger wheels and the 4wd stickers on it and pretend until the wreck comes along.
Someone on one of the UK sites was building a Syncro MG Midget using golf parts so anything is possible ?

Thanks for the idea, BUT notice the but is big.
I have just bought the real thing, and have been carravelising my syncro adding seats and another window. Thanks for the thought.
