tooing and frowing over the gear box choice though. The motor will be easliy capable of 450+hp and the g50 aswell. But is that too much. That means a
quaife lsd too. Hows the poor little notch gonna handle it?

It would definitely be the easier option.

| To be honest m8 i dont think a Lbox will handle 400hp+ especially for my 2.5 project.

USDM EJ257 STI engine - Mahle forged pistons, ported WRX heads, ARP head studs, metal head gaskets
700cc injectors with parallel fuel rails
Rebuilt GTPS01 (TD05H-16G)turbo - rotated housing
Bosch coil conversion
Apexi PowerFC
3" system & no cat
FMIC c/w water spray
This set up cost AU $13K & made 198 at the wheels
I should of stated V2 STI as that made 209kw at the wheels same turbo above ( turbo was off the same car & these two motors were fitted to the same
car same hard ware as well .
cost AU $7K
V3 STI with a VF34 turbo & autronics will kick the 2 combos above I give you the ks soon as the motors about done
The above is based on real facts , my self would I build a 2.5

And thats what we are doing hey Neil?...... I have the EJ25 going in my Notch which we are building up with STI bits and the TDO4L turbo and RS
intercooler... The trans is currently going to to be a built SSP.... The IRS conversion is based on a swingaxle torsion housing with IRS pivot
boxes....
B4 you cut up your torsion housing I would do some measuring.... My bro fitted an EJ20T (IRS TI box) to his Notch 12 years ago and there is loads of
room at the back of the engine bay.... You may be able to fit the G50/EJ25 without cutting up the housing.....
Measure twice, cut once....

Check the legislation in your state.... I don't have (but I will) to run cats on my EG33 powered 1985 Transporter..... But it does harm the
planet...

I contacted Berg in the Us and they only do the conversion to type 2 irs for the 002 box not the 091. Does anyone do the 091?
Is the 002 as strong as the 091 if their both built boxes. Does it just come down to the strength of the case?
They wont have the 002 kits for a couple of months.
Rich.

915 box in beetle with porsche 944 torsion tubes
getting around RTA laws and wheel sizes
use 944 irs arms with porsche drive axles wheel track to comply with porsche and wheels sizes and load
shorter torsion bars 26"
this would work in a notch
the gearbox moved back 100mm.

I might be wrong, but as I understand it, the extra strength with an 091 is in the diff and the gears. The diff and side bearings swap straight into a
002 1800 box I've been told. I'm a bit surprised that bergs don't do one that hooks up to an 091 box though. Jeff Unwin (Helbug fame) was raving
about 091s into bugs with Berg nosecones years ago. He knew berg's catalog inside out at the time.
