London Taxi restoration!

Hey guys and gals, I just thought I'd show you a few pics of the 1984 Austin FX4 London Taxi-Cab I'm restoring at work for my boss.
As all London Taxi's start their lives, this old beast came from London!
Imported about 10 years ago this car had been used for wedding hire with my boss's other company 'Golden Roller Hire'.

As you can see the poor old girl had a two piece crank!

Was it petrol or Diesel engine?

Is it air conditioned?

Those tail lamps were also used in a small two door Austin
and maybe some front wheel drive austin/morris cars..

Good on you Staggers, nice work!

Needs a big donk though!

What is he going to use it for?

they sound like diesels on TV...

there was a late model one of these in Sydney a few years ago...

I think it was smaller than that one...

and more modern ??? shape...

The tail lights look like Morris 1100 units. Must be a british engineering thing to manufacture cars with areas designed to rust.

Yeah diesel and air conditioned, they stayed the same shape and size from the 50's on.

It'll be used as a wedding hire car, I keep telling the boss he needs to let me throw a Rover V8 in it, BUT instead he's letting me put a V6 3.8 Buick engine with probably a Turbo 700 box.

Just found a set of 17 inch chrome *bling* mags last week, will probably be getting them.
