how wonderfull to see yet another kit has ended up in US
it annoys me that ppl have only decided these flash kits are flash in the pan (excuse the pun) in the last few years
a mate of mine thats a panel beater spray painter that painted my bug has sprayed a few bugs in his time and siad it used to piss him off in the 80s
and early 90s welding all the holes up cos ppl wanted them removed
give it a few more years everyone now will be bitching about the holes theyve drilled in the sides of there bugs
i knew of few bugs with them in a grave yard here that was all crushed by sims a few years ago
hindsight's a bitch
and this old girl was one of the most rust free original bugs u would find, only rear panels were repainted due to and engine fire
to this day shes still sitting in a shed over in south lismore
i ended up highest bidder on it at an auction ages ago but the owners under the illusion that its worth $800 LOL

Yes, all stainless and different contours and lengths to my MV12 kit. The door trim has a lovely curve and fits the door perfectly.
Came off a 1964 Beetle.

I don't think the back half is any particular kit.
The bottom rear piece doesn't look right.
Sharp edge on the bottom that would normally be used to butt up against another piece of trim or door opening and rounded end is butted up against the
top trim.
and the gap between the bottom rear trim and the rear guard doesn't look right.
Maybe they lost some bits along way and have just used what they could find.
or,.. maybe the person who put it on originally had had a few too many,...

That looks to me to be incorrectly fitted. I've seen some shockers over the years.
In the late '50s, early '60s, I fitted quite a few as part of my job as a panelbeater at a VW dealership. We had 'jigs' for most of the kits,
which made it easier to drill the holes in the right places.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

I agree, The door trim is spot on and contoured like none I found in the catalogue, The rear big piece appears that it should be in line with the door
piece horizontal or tapering downwards. Both sides of the car are identical and all ends are properly formed like my normal aussie flash set.
Perhaps they where taken off a different make of car and fitted to this one years ago ?
