yeh 50 inlet,38 exh
and yes 94 bore.i was tempted to go bigger.but no need..
i'll take a pick of the chambers.nothing special.just a tidy up from how they came.
all the work was in the manifolds.

thanks dave.
really i wasn't sure .
new machine, so i wasn't 100 percent.
exhaust came up on average@ 64 % at low lift all the way up to 74% in the mid and back of to 65 % at top.

come on guy's barrels,cam ,and pushrods,where to buy?recommendations.

pauter for cam and barrels.
how much rpm do you plan?

I would go for something in the 270 to 280 at 50 area.
Unless you are going above 9000, I would stay below 280.
My current Surecam has 281/286 and makes less power until I get to 6000,
than all othes I have tried. Then kicks arse after that.

If I can keep the rpms above 6000 for the run it works well,
but in hind sight I would have prefered something mid 270's.

Problem is, more duration makes the profile softer on its ramp rates,
which helps with .800" lift.

thanks dave.

9000 would be nice,10000 would be great.
but lets face it i have never made power over 6500.well thats were it has always peaked or flat lined from there on.
my old one was a pauter.
i was trying work out something that was of the shelf .
hopefully.

I think he is using the Strip Dominator/New Autocraft 910 casting Mac.

They normally only supply 1.5 rockers,
so with you current Pauter cam, it may not be the lift you want.

The rpm where peak power occurs is generally governed by a combination of the engine size and the point of minimum cross section.

Once you have these details it can be optimised (or fudged) slightly by the selection of the other components.(internal and external).

Here you can see with double peaks
how the cam and exhaust was going for an earlier peak and the engine combo wanted a higher.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/dangerous_05/Scan-1.jpg

Then with a cam and exhaust to match the engine combo:

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/dangerous_05/ScanDynoCDheadsNewExhandcamJan302012.jpg

There are some other factors with this deal, but this is how i see it.

The other factor worthy of comment is where to shift.
I know that with mine, it drops down below 6000rpm on the shift.
So you can see that even if I shift past the power peak at 8400,
it has less power than if I could afford to run it past 9000
and have it drop into a higher HP-rpm.
(because its still 240 at the limiter but only 200 at 6000rpm.)

rev to 8 knowing in first the 7 in each other gear knowing thats were it needed to be for best power.
my curve were all ways like your last run's.
i don't know what to expect with the new set up,time will tell i supose.
cheers once again dave.

Yeh Mac . Strip dominators.
With westi manifolds as per usuall , made them look standardish though cause I kept the cast bottoms and spent about 20 hours welding them up , the flow numbers are not that much more than my old 044's .but in saying that .there are heaps of different advantages of the new heads.more lift, better rockers.and the possibilty of more is all there.
They are defiantly better all the way through.with the cfm, but not the big changes I thought.but they had had well over 200 hrs of work on them.
And the o44 's were stretched to there limits.it was funny when I went to give them one more weld up to get them ready for the new engine . They let me know they had had enough.
Heated them up got ready to weld and bam. They started to crack up everywhere .I giggled and said good job !then put the old things under the bench for retirement .little 044's got me a best 8th mile mph of 99.12. Poor little things.
