No, I have not weighed a stock bug,
but my owners manual says for an Aug 1960 beetle(40hp) it is 740kg ready to drive, plus driver.
36hp/splitcase tranny was 720 or 730kg from memory.

So 800 to 840 depending on driver size.

For comparison, my drag bug is a 60 body on an IRS/BJ pan,
and it has glass lids and guards, and lexan windows,
but mild steel cage, bus IRS tranny, and Pauter engine,
and it weighed 810kg last time.
I am right on 75kg.

thank's for the info.
the reason i ask is because the rego papers say 717 kg's ,but when do the RTA ever get things right.
i might have to go down to the local weigh bride, the only thing is i don't know if the car will make it onto the scales,it's a bit to low at the moment.

Just put some sticks in there to replace the shocks.
I did that on the dyno since my dyno-tyres were a lower profile.
