i collected my motor today and for parts and labour it cost me $1400.new rings and hone the bores,new exhaust valves,grind inlet valves and cut all
seats, skim cyl heads, replace 2 head studs ,supply and fit new water pump and clutch kit and reassemble.i will start putting it all back together
tomorrow....cheers...wayne

Damm thats a good final price, where was work done? Bet u cant wait to fire her/him up again.
Keep the steering and the propulsion seperate . Still a Kombi...

yes, it will be good to drive him /her again[ no name as yet]. the work was done by john hall in devonport.the local bloke [launceston] scared me off
by talking huge numbers and is known for charging top dollar.john hall was recommended by a friend in devonport who has been using his services for 12
or 15 years.when we were talking possible costs for the job i got the impression he would be ok and i was happy to take it a bit on trust .this has
proved to be the case because i am happy with the price and some other advice he has given me.are there any locals reading this that might be able to
give me a hand to refit it in a week or so?...
