POR 15
my memory fails me....
strex, jakriz? someone with an unusual name......
......posted a while ago (old forum) about their use of POR 15 on a floor pan.
well my pans gonna be ready for paint in a week or two, so please, whoever it was or anyone else who knows.....
advice or useful experience with POR 15 is needed
how much do i need to buy?
do i need to buy that 'chassis coat' to put on top (UV protection)?
any unusaul prepwork required?

Golde,
If your pan is bead/sand blasted, just paint straight onto of it, no prep work is needed, otherwise, marine clean it, then use metal ready, and
paint.
I painted my pan with a paintbrush on the advice of PPC, and it turned out good.
I've painted other parts with a spraygun, and the finish is definately MUCH better.
People have commented saying that it's powder coated...Plus the other benefit of spraying is that your hand won't be sore after painting
with a brush, and you go thru much less solvent.
1L should do your chassis, but speak to the guys at PPC, that should get you about 2 coats. As for UV protection how much sunlight do you expect to
get under the pan? I'm assuming that there will be carpet up top...

Briil stuff,
just done the underneath of my kombi,engine bay, inside floor and cab floor.it was shot blasted first , so painted straight on to bare metal.
Used about 3 litres and sprayed it, use a mask, and dont get any on your skin as it takes about a week to get off.
sprays very thin so try and get your prep work spot on.
When cured about 24 hours it is rock hard.

I just helped my mate paint his pan with por15 chassis coat, used almost 1L (no solvent or thinner) to do both sides fairly liberally. Turned out well
(painted it over etchprimed surface post sandblasting).
