Targa 07

Well just got back form targa 07...

Was gooid and bad, it was my second tarmac rally (first was rally tassie on a 996 turbo s) and i am seriously hooked.

Was naving for a guy in a 968 (3L, 4 cylinder, NA), it was his second tarmac rally and second targa.

Only met the guy when i got there, but he is a awesome driver, felt completly safe.
Prologue- Allot of waiting around and not much for about 3mins of street stage. ran about 50th in modern.......

Day 1- Loop out of launy- this was awesome, the first few stages are very easy and we cleared all of them. Then nookville, we got 10th outright (bit of luck with the rain) (remember in a 3L na car) beat allot of GT3, Turbo, Evo and wrx's all with normally twice the power!!Ran some good times and was running top 30 which was out aim for the event.

Day 2- What a blast, its the best fun i have had in a car ever. and iam back for any tarmac rally i can do. Sidling, st marys pass, elephant pass etc. we ran a few top 20 stage times.....hitting well above our weight. When you loose only 7secs to jimmy richards over a 10km pass stage and he has a GT3 RS and you only have 176kw.......... you feel good. We had been running about 80% and the fronts which were softs were getting shagged (working on getting rain!). End of day 2, were 19th ouright, 2 in cat (age group only car faster was a RX7 track car with plates) and 1st in class by 2.5mins)

Then day 3, short sharp stages around hobart, we backe off 5% for the front tires, third stage of the day, tighening, fastish corner, down hill off chamber, the car didn't turn and we went off, after a bit of sliding and such like collected a gum head on. we are both ok, but the car is not.....

So awesome event, will be doing it again and agian and agian...... the driver wants me back (likes my notes and how i call), and is talking about a 996 turbo to see of we can run top 10...............

I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
